Charlene White Mortensen (Shaw), age 85, passed away April 9, 2022 at her home in Cleveland, Utah.

Charlene was born on July 21, 1936 to Emory and Lucille Cowley White in Cleveland, Utah. She married the love of her life, Andrew Mortensen, on December 5, 1953.

Shaw enjoyed playing softball. She was an excellent catcher, playing against and with women 20 years her junior. She had several musical talents, including the accordion, piano and the spoons. Her carrot cake cupcakes were always the hit of the White family reunion. She enjoyed card games and kept busy doing word searches. Her greatest joy was caring for and being with her family.

She is survived by daughter, Cindy (Troy) George; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Mortensen; son-in-law, Doug Shiew; sisters-in-law, Martina Mortensen, Nelda White; grandchildren, Kristi (Josh) Perez, Ashley (Chris) Gallegos, Brandi, Brian and Lindsey George, Jenny Wren; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Les Mortensen; daughter, Jessie Shiew; grandson, Jason Shiew; siblings, Isabell, Lavar, Jack, Bill, Frank, Ted and Bobby; and many close, lifelong friends.

Special thanks to her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Mortensen, for caring for grandma so she could remain in her home that she loved.

Funeral service, Thursday, April 14, 2022, 12:00 noon, Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street, Price, Utah) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment, Cleveland Town Cemetery, right next to her beloved Andrew.
