Carbon Dino baseball got back to the field on Thursday after earning a win over Alta Wednesday in Price. The Dinos traveled to Cedar City to face the Canyon View Falcons, ranked at No. 2 in the state RPI. Meeting for the first time and playing in a double-header, the Dinos would end up splitting the games winning the first 7-4 and dropping the second 8-5.

Game one saw Carbon put runs on the board in the first inning, and then both teams went silent offensively until the bottom of the fourth inning when Canyon View added one of their own.

In the top of the fifth and sixth innings Carbon put up two runs in each. Defensively, the Dinos gave up just three more runs taking the 7-4 victory.

It was Beau Vea who would collect the win on the mound in game one for the Dinos. Rylan Hart had a great game at the plate, collecting three RBI’s on two home runs. Jordan Fossat would also launch one over the fence, adding an RBI and Dallen O’Neil had two RBI’s in the win.

In game two, Carbon would once again put runs up first, however the Falcons started by putting up runs in inning number two and three. The Dinos scored runs in the third through sixth innings, and allowed four runs in the bottom of the sixth to Canyon View.

Jordan Fossat was on the mound for the loss. Colton Lowe put one over the fence for the Dinos earning one RBI. Four other Dinos: Keaton Rich, Ridge Nelson, Wyatt Faulk and Chet Anderson, all registered an RBI in the loss.

Up next for the Dinos is a double-header with the Emery Spartans in Castle Dale.

Game time is set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the new field at Emery High School.
