
James Edwin Hanley, 83, passed April 14, 2022 at his home in Miller Creek.
He was born August 23, 1938 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Lee Edwin and Virginia Foianini Hanley. On March 19, 1988, Jim married Linda Lee Shamburger Parish in Price, Utah. Prior to her passing in 2015, Jim and Linda made their home in Miller Creek where they raised a wonderful family and farmed alongside each other for over 40 years.
Jim was a longtime resident of Carbon County who worked in numerous mines throughout the area. He was a tireless and dedicated worker whose true passion in life was farming. Jim was a simple and high-spirited individual who was as loyal as the day was long. Jim was a numbers man and he was always writing down and running numbers in his head.
Jim was a graduate of Notre Dame Regional School in Price and a staunch supporter of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. He loved watching the news, following politics and visiting with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Kenny (Debra) Parish, Price, Lisa Summers, Hartford, Kentucky, Russell (Kim) Parish, Price; his brother, Leon Hanley, Palm Springs, CA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his beloved neighbors.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Linda Hanley; daughter, Debra Hathaway; and a brother, Butch Hanley.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, April 21, 2022, 11:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and at the church Thursday one hour prior to Mass. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
