
Sharon Grace (Leautaud) Hackney, 80, passed away on Friday April 15, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born on April 24, 1941, in Price, Utah to Albert and Leona (Mortensen) Leautaud. Sharon lived a life of purpose. She was known for her determination and infallible work ethic. She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile.
Sharon graduated from Carbon High school in 1959. In her youth, she spent her time working on her parents’ farm and barrel racing. Sharon had many hobbies and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed crafting and was a talented crocheter and quilter. Sharon made many beautiful things for others. She worked for many years as a secretary for a local attorney and was known for her impressive skill in shorthand.
Sharon married Donald Morgan Hackney on November 10, 1966, at the little white chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they had three children. As a family they enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and motocross. Don preceded her in death on December 7, 1992.
In 2004, Sharon and Leon Arthur Rich shared a game of bingo that led to many years of joy and companionship. Together they loved camping, gardening, canning, and hunting for brass.
Sharon is survived by her loving companion, Leon Arthur Rich; sisters, Alberta (Ted) Bianco and Joyce (Pat) Worley; brother Jack (Kay) Leautaud; children, Shane (Donie) Hackney, Todd (Kris) Hackney, and Dustin (DaNelle) Hackney; sister-in-law, Margene Tonel Hackney; grandchildren, Tanner (Krystal) Hackney, Shainey Hackney (Dillen Ward), Darian Hackney (Jess Wright), Drake Hackney, HaLeigh Hackney, and Morgan Hackney; great-granddaughter, LockLynn Jo Hackney, with whom she shared her birthday; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and lifelong friends Linda Leautaud, and Kathleen Trocarione.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Leona; husband, Donald Morgan Hackney and his parents Morgan and Mina (Rowe) Hackney; brother-in-law Robert Hackney, and lifelong friends Ted and Shirley Fausett and Dewey and Barbara Gale.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gagon, Dr. Potter and the entire CNS Home Health and Hospice teams, especially Michelle Priano and Ashlie Pierce.
Funeral services for Sharon Leautaud Hackney will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
