The Carbon Dinos are Region 12 champs after a come from behind victory in Moab on Thursday over the Grand County Red Devils 3-2.

Carbon has quietly compiled an 8-5 overall record and an impressive 7-1 region mark with the only loss coming at the hands of the Emery Spartans.

The game with Grand looked like it was going to be a loss for the Dinos, who were outscored 2-1 in the first half.

Coming out in the second half, Carbon found the back of the net twice while goalkeeper Dylan Curtis dug into shut out Grand in the second half.

Jackson Griffeth found the back of the net and Tyler Morris added another goal and an assist in the big win for the Dinos.

On Monday, Carbon will head to Roosevelt to face the Union Cougars bringing an end to the regular season.

The RPI compiled by the Utah High School Activities Association has been removed from view, but will be re-released on April 27 when the season-ending rankings will be released, along with the bracket for the 3A State Championships.

The playoffs will begin on April 29 with the first three rounds taking place at home sites. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 10 at Jordan High School, with the State Championship game taking place the next day at Rio Tinto Stadium.
