School has come to an end which means it’s time for the summer program to kick off at the Price Boys and Girls Club. Director, Quakee Tabone sat down with Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details about their summer program.

“We are really geared up to have the best summer ever with these kids. We have a whole schedule, we’re open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. So, we’ve got trips to the Peace Garden for outside time every single day and we do summer brain game which is our academic, fun, academic twist. We try to stay away from the tutoring and homework and really make it fun,” said Tabone. The summer program will have a lot of outdoor activities planned so that students can enjoy the summer weather.

The summer program is a great way for students to discover and explore different interests. “We have things like forensics, animation, entrepreneurship, storytelling, lots of activities like that and more that we do to kind of give them a learning experience and an opportunity to learn new things and have fun at the same time,” stated Tabone. Other fun activities include sports and community service projects that the club enjoys participating in each summer. Plus, this is also a great way for boys and girls to learn some new skills.

There is going to be an opportunity for a few club members to go to Salt Lake for a soccer clinic. “We actually got the opportunity to do a soccer clinic with the Salt Lake Community College Women’s Soccer Team. So we are taking, we have a limited number of spots but it’s first come, first serve, for signups. We’re real excited we get to take the kids up there and do a soccer clinic that is an opportunity we probably don’t usual get down here,” stated Tabone. If the soccer clinic is of interest to your child get them signed up today for the Boys and Girls Club Summer Program. It’s a $20.00 registration fee that covers the entire summer months. Get your child signed up today by stopping by the club at 60 East 100 North or you may call them at (435) 637-6066.
