The Helper Merchant 17u squad will host the American Legion State Tournament starting on Monday at Carbon High School.

The Merchants will enter play in the No.3 seed after ending the season with two loses in  a home and away series with Vernal, ending the regular season with an 8-7 record.

The eight team field will be made up of teams from Ridgeline, out of Millville, Stansbury, Helper, Trappers Blue and Red from Hyrum, Pleasant Grove, Vernal and Alta.

Helper will get things going Monday on the south field at Carbon High at 2 p.m. against the Trappers Blue team, a win puts them in the 6 p.m. game on Tuesday against the winner of the Ridgeline and Stansbury contest. A loss and they would play at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The tournament will conclude Friday the 22 in the Championship game, that starts at 6 p.m.
