Price City’s International Days celebration is set to take place on August 4 through August 6. This annual celebration is a gathering for the entire community to come together for live performances, events, and activities. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with City Council Member Rick Davis and Parade Coordinator, Megan Marshall to discuss all the details.
“International Days is right around the corner, there’s been a lot of work by our committee, employees, businesses have been participating. We are anticipating a great, great International Days. On Thursday, August 4 at 6:00 pm that is when opening ceremonies are. We’re going to be announcing the Citizen of the Year Award, our Grand Marshall, our Junior Grand Marshall. We have entertainment all lined up. Its going to start everything right then at 6:00 pm on Thursday and we are going to continue right in to Saturday,” stated Councilman Davis. The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Price City Peace Garden, so folks are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs/blankets to sit and enjoy the festivities.
“Friday the fun continues, you’ve got the kid’s parade that happens and that is such a ball, such a ball to see all the kids out there on their bikes and their big wheels and how they’ve decorated them, you definitely don’t want to miss that. Then it’s followed by the kid’s day, all the vendors are open, the carnival is open, another free swim day, the burnout, cornhole, pickleball, and the movie in the park. I mean it’s just filled with fun that day,” explained Marshall. All the fun activities and events will take place at Washington Park, except the burnout contest will be held on Main Street.
“Saturday starts off with the free breakfast in the park, it’s been charged in the past but this year it is free sponsored by ConocoPhillips, so you definitely don’t want to miss that. Go out get some free breakfast then head over to the Grand Parade, I’m bias that’s my favorite part, I do, I love the parade. We got an amazing turnout this year, people’s floats are extravagant, they’re really being competitive to get those trophies and those advertising packages so you don’t want to miss that,” said Marshall. After the parade head on up to Washington Park to enjoy live entertainment, game show on the main stage, plus visit the vendors, booths, carnival and car show.
