Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, John Andrew Melo, age 66, passed away peacefully August 25, 2022 in Ogden, Utah.

He was born October 15, 1955 in Tacoma, Washington to John and Shirley Franklin Melo.

Married Diane Joe November 30, 1974 in Wellington, Utah.

John was a member of the Catholic Church.  He was a bronc rider in the rodeo and broke 99 percent of his horses.  John enjoyed farming, but the light and joy of his life were his grandkids.  His great grandchildren held a special place in his heart.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by his wife, Diane Melo, Price; daughters, Charlotte (Jeremy) Craig, Staci Melo, both of Ogden; sister, Kathy (Wes) Twitchell, Gusher, Utah; brothers, Steven Melo and Donald Melo, both of Gusher, Utah; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was Preceded in death by his parents, John & Shirley Melo; daughter, Diane Kay Melo; sons, Tom and Johnny Melo; and a brother, Ronald Melo.

Funeral service, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service.  Burial will be in the Cleveland Town Cemetery, Cleveland, Utah.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
