The high school cross country season is officially off and rolling as over 30 schools gathered at the UIAAA Invitational Saturday afternoon in Spanish Fork.

Welcoming schools from all classifications, the meet gave both Carbon and Emery an opportunity to compete. In the end both schools had multiple individuals finish inside the top 100 individually.

The Emery Spartans boys’ team ranked 15th overall out of 28 teams. Camdon Larsen was the top performer as he finished 40th out 190 runners with a time of 16:20.0. Jack Christiansen was the next top placer for Emery as he finished 97th overall.

The Carbon boys ended right behind Emery in 16th place. Braxton Ware was one of three Dinos to end inside the top 100 as he finished in 73rd place. Easton Humes and Garret Black also put together solid performances.

Competing against 22 teams the Carbon Lady Dinos ended 13th overall. The story of the meet was freshman Rozlyn Stowe who ended 14th of 165 participants with an ending time of 18:38.5. Four of the six Carbon girls’ runners ended inside the top 100.

Emery will next play host to a meet on Wednesday, which will include Carbon.
