grief-process

The USU Extension Office offers several events for community members of all ages to participate in, from the 4-H Cloverbuds program to Quick & Easy Cooking Classes. Castle Country Radio invited Assistant Professor in Family and Consumer Sciences, Christina Pay to discuss all the details.

The 4-H Cloverbuds program is a great way to introduce children to the 4-H program and they are now hosting registration. “Cloverbuds is kind of the introduction to 4-H, it’s for youth who are in kindergarten through second grade. We have activities that are planned monthly, twice a month actually for Cloverbuds, and our registration is opening today for Cloverbuds, the enrollment. Just for the month of September the enrollment fee is $5.00 for the whole month, first of October it goes back up to $10.00, but for this month its $5.00, plus there a $10.00 activity fee, it’s a yearly fee, that’s all they’ll have to pay for the full year of activities,” stated Pay. The $5.00 fee covers the entire year for the Cloverbuds program that runs from September 2022 to June 2023. There will be a Mandatory Parent Meeting held on Wednesday, September 7th at 6:00 pm (brief meeting, and refreshments will be served) in the USU Extension Classroom.

The monthly Quick & Easy Cooking Classes will begin this month, officials are hoping that folks will come and enjoy these events that will now start at 7:00 pm. “So our Quick & Easy Cooking is to teach everyone that they can cook and to cook with confidence. Beginning in September on the 21st at 7:00 pm we’ll have our first Quick & Easy Cooking Class. It’s going to have the theme of Tailgating Favorites and we will show you healthy ways to make some great tailgating food and meals that you share with your family and friends,” stated Pay. Folks can attend the classes in person or watch on the USU Extension YouTube channel. Limited seating is available so get signed up on https://www.eventbrite.com/

There will be a workshop held this month entitled The Process of Healthy Grieving and everyone is invited to attend this free event. “Its going to be on September 13 and September 14, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in our USU Extension Classroom. We’re going to have a guest come talk to us about the process of healthy grieving. Something that not only talks about grief and death, but also the grief we experience in other areas of our life and we’ll learn how to process those things in a more healthy way. These workshops are part of our health and wellness series for this year. We’re focusing on mental health and the benefits and the things that we can do to improve our mental health,” said Pay. There will be engaging discussion as well as plenty of time for questions and answers. To register for this event visit https://www.eventbrite.com/
