Price City each month sends a representative to Castle Country Radio to keep listeners posted or informed on various topics. This month the update was with Price City Council Member, Boyd Marsing who spoke on the city’s International Days Celebration, water, roads and CJC Christmas Tree Regalia.

This year’s International Days celebration is an event the city puts on every year and this year they moved it to the first weekend in August and it turned out to be a huge success. “We really appreciate everybody and the participation that we got. International Days the parade we’ve had better participation then we probably every had. So we’ve had a lot of activities this year, none of that is possible without the citizens and everything that they contribute to those events. So we just really want to say thanks to everybody,” stated Marsing. Although the celebration was scaled back during COVID years it was nice to see the celebration come together and in full form this year.

As far as the city’s water usage over the summer it was well conserved by all citizens. “First of all, we would really love to say again, thanks to all the citizens. This year we’re down about 30 percent of what we typically use in a year. That’s just because the citizens you know they’re willing to step up and try to conserve and spend the time to figure out how they can do that, so thank you,” said Marsing. The city also did its part in eliminating some areas of grass at the Fire Station over the summer and changing the landscaping concepts.

Another thing that city is thankful for is citizens notifying them of roads that are needing attention within city limits. “Our roads we’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out ways to spend more money and how to improve the roads with a smaller budget, we just appreciate everybody and their input,” said Marsing. Many folks saw the various road projects taking place over the summer months and the city appreciates the patience shown to workers as they completed those projects.

It was nice to see the downtown area come alive with that Culture Connection Concerts and that will liveliness will continue as the CJC Christmas Tree Regalia will be hosted inside businesses on Main Street. “We’re excited to have them on Main Street again. They’ve decided to stay on Main Street, it’s cold outside but we love to involve our Main Street and our businesses on Main Street in however we can do that, we love to do that. We love the Christmas Tree Regalia and the great things that they do for the Children’s Justice Center,” said Marsing.
