Terry Ledon Fry passed away peacefully at his home in Price, Utah on October 20, 2022 at the age of 72.
Terry’s story starts on March 22, 1950 in Dragerton, Utah. Carbon County was blessed with one unique spirit! Terry would spend his childhood here, growing up and maintaining lifelong friends.
Terry graduated from Carbon High School in 1968, he later earned his Associates Degree at CEU. Terry loved basketball; did I say Terry loved basketball!
In 1972 Terry married Lyn Cowdell and together they had a daughter, Bobbie Lyn. They later divorced but stayed lifelong friends. In 1979 Terry married Connie Everett, they divorced but remarried later in life.
Terry was a lobbyist for the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA). Terry thoroughly enjoyed the years he lived in Denver, CO, while traveling the political world and making more life-long friends.
In 1983 Terry bought the Matador Steakhouse & Bar in Price, Utah. He entertained many locals by the way he cruised through life in “Fry’s 55,” with his polo shirt, shorts and flip flops, living life by only his rules! He enjoyed many years catering with Sam Farlaino; his favorite event was Camp Carbon (Utah Football fundraiser). Terry was an avid Utah fan and attended many games with his beloved friend Harold Marston.
Terry was always busy and quite the entrepreneur. From tanning salons to video stores, he was also involved in the community and coached many little league sport teams.
In 1992, Terry welcomed his son Trevor into the world. Truly his mini me! Later in life you could always find him fishing at Millsite and enjoying time with his grandchildren.
In March 2018 Terry was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. A huge thank you to Dr. Brandt Esplin and his staff at Revere Oncology for giving 4.5 more years of life. Terry loved his cancer “Doc” and always loved hearing him say “You’re breaking records Fry.”
Terry was a giver and would always help others whether it be monetary or just good ole Fry advice.
Survived by his wife Connie; daughter, Bobbie; son, Trevor (Kacee); grandchildren, Lynzie, Taven, Ryker and Adley.
Preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Dorothy Fry; sister, Debra Fry; and nephew, Jeff Grako
A big thank you to all his friends and neighbors who helped him these past few years. A special thank you to Mike Marakis, the one guy who was always there, even if it meant picking Fry up after he escaped from the hospital!
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Cowboy Club (31 East Main St in Wellington, UT) from 3-6 p.m. Another thank you to Glen Wells, one of Terry’s most respected friends and business partners.
