Wednesday's Drive Time Sports featured Emery High School football coach Jon Faimalo, who talked about the team's 56-0 win over Carbon High School this past Friday. Coach Faimalo also discussed the team's upcoming game Friday against South Sevier. Also, former Major League Baseball pitcher Bill Laskey joined for a conversation surrounding the playoffs. Also, game 1 of the NBA Finals, featuring the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
