The Clampers and City of Helper present Scrooge Comes to Helper on Friday, November 25, Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27 inside the Rio Theatre located at 210 South Main Street in Helper.
“The Matt Warner Chapter of the Clampers and the City of Helper are putting together a fundraiser for the Sub for Santa and it’s a tour de force one man show of the Charles Dicken’s story A Christmas Carol,” said Morgan Lund, narrator of the show. “It’s a lot of fun, I play about 23 different people. I’m pretty good with the guys but some of my women are not so great.” This event is open to everyone of all ages in the community and would be a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
“We are performing at the Rio Theatre the 25th, 26th and 27th, right after Thanksgiving, so what else do you have to do but digest your food. We have two evening performances at 7:00 pm on the 25th and 26th; and two matinee performances at the Rio Theatre on the 26th and 27th at 2:00 pm,” explained Lund. The event is free for everyone; however, the Clampers are accepting monetary donations to go towards their Sub for Santa program. There have been donations made by businesses such as JOY Global and Wheeler.
An opportunity drawing will be held for an original painting by Thomas Williams entitled Tipple at Hiawatha (HI-A-WATH-A). Interested individuals may purchase opportunity tickets for $10.00 at Balance Rock, Happiness Within and at the Clampers Hall. All proceeds will go to the Sub for Santa Program as well.
