Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Carol “Kelly” Crogan, age 89, passed away November 19, 2016 at home.
She was born June 10, 1927 in Orem, Utah to James Ray and Rhea Kate Sherman Larsen.
She was a longtime resident of Carbon County where she grew up in Hiawatha. Kelly graduated from Carbon High and attended Carbon College for 2 years and obtained her teaching certificate. She began teaching school in Hiawatha and then in Price. She loved teaching and it carried over to her kids and grandkids when she spent countless hours helping with homework. She met and married the most handsome man Lloyd Frederick Crogan in Hiawatha on May 29, 1947. They had two children, Steven and Carrie and their love for each other lasted over 65 years. She began working for Eastern Utah Development and was involved with the March of Dimes conventions and loved meeting the children. She worked as a utilities clerk for Price City for several years and developed several lifelong friendships with co-workers. She was secretary for the Utah Wildlife Federation and enjoyed going to many wildlife conventions where she gained many friends. She then went to work for Carbon County in the Clerk/ Auditor’s office as Chief Deputy where she retired to take care of her newest granddaughter Marisa, because no one could do it better than she could. Kelly was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Lady Elks Price Lodge #1550. Kelly’s greatest joy in life was her family and she made sure we all knew how much she loved us. She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends. Kelly was a friend to all and was loved by many.
