Four wins in four days is the start that the Carbon Lady Dinos were hoping for. Carbon took care of business against the Summit Academy Bears, 52-36, last Friday night.
Senior guard Kennedy Williams and the Lady Dinos started the game hot out of the gate and took a commanding 18-7 lead after the first eight minutes. Williams scored eight early points to give Carbon a spark after tip-off.
Second quarter struggles have been an issue, this year, for Carbon, and these issues continued as Summit Academy outscored the Dinos 15-9 in the second period. Carbon managed to hold onto a 27-22 lead at the halftime break.
The door was quickly shut on the Bears as Carbon outscored Summit Academy by 15 points to officially take full control of the game.
Although Summit Academy outscored the Lady Dinos, again, in the fourth quarter, Carbon’s lead was enough to end the night with a 52-36 win.
Amiah Timothy ended the night as the leading scorer for Carbon. Timothy ended with 14 points on 5-13 shooting from the field. Timothy also recorded nine rebounds in the win. Madison Orth finished with a double-double for Carbon, 12 points and 12 rebounds. Kennedy Williams tallied 12 points and went 7-10 from the free-throw line. Haley Garish also finished in double digits with 11 points and Jacie Jensen scored two to round out the night for the Carbon Dinos.
The Lady Dinos will next take the court on Tuesday, Dec. 6 against the Grantsville Cowboys. Both teams enter the game with a 4-0 record as the two powerhouses will face off at Carbon High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
