The Price Chapel is excited for their annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Services and this year will feature earlier times for services. The first service will be held at 3:00 pm and the second service will be held at 5:00 pm both at the church’s location of 611 West Price River Drive. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Pastor Steve Swinburne to discuss all the details.

The church was able to help the Carbon Caring For Kids organization this year with their Christmas Break meal kits by preparing 100 kits for children in the community. “So we’re doing 100 Christmas kits, our youth group is packing them altogether and we’ve been gathering all those supplies. People in our church community have been fantastic at bringing them in or donating money so we can go out and buy them and pillage Walmart and Smith’s for every Chef Boyardee or Tuna Fish packet they have. That goes to feed kids that would normally go hungry on the weekends or during Christmas break in our community, about 153 kids or so get those packets every weekend,” explained Pastor Swinburne. This has been a wonderful way for the church to give back to the community and assist those children in need during the holiday.

“If you ever have driven by and was, what is Price Chapel, it’s a Christian Church that’s been in Price since 1944, so we’re almost 80 years old. Our mission is finding and following Jesus together, so we’re all about Jesus. We have services on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am and 11:00 am, two different service times. Then throughout the week we have lot of different things going on at the church. We have a lot of different bible studies, and small groups, so if you’re interested in studying the Bible and learning more about Jesus and the scriptures, there’s a place for you at Price Chapel to do that,” stated Pastor Swinburne. The church really values and investing in the next generation so on Tuesday nights they have youth group for junior high and high schoolers, and then on Wednesday evenings the younger children have their group meetings.

No matter what denomination or church all community members are welcomed to attend Christmas Eve services at Price Chapel. “So at our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service each service is about one hour long and we sing Christmas carols, so we have some beautiful music and you get to sing those traditional Christmas songs. We have a kids moment, where the kids come up and we have story for the kids, so it’s a family friendly event. I’ll share a short message, this year its titled Are You Expecting? and I’m excited for that. Then we end the service with a traditional candle lighting, where everyone has a candle in their hand,” said Pastor Swinburne. This year the Christmas Eve services will be offered at 3:00 pm and again at 5:00 pm. On Christmas day they will offer a one special service at 9:30 am where folks can come and enjoy singing Christmas songs for the service.

If you are unable to attend Christmas Eve services individuals are welcomed to attend regular worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am and 11:00 am. You can learn more about Price Chapel by visiting their website at http://pricechapel.org/ or call them at 637-5244.
