Jacie Jensen scored 10 and Amiah Timothy added 10 points, six assists and four rebounds as the Lady Dinos got back in the win column on Tuesday night against North Sanpete in Price.

Coming off of three straight losses at the Fruita Monument Tournament, Carbon got down to business early against the Hawks.

Right from the start Timothy took the tip and ran down to put the Dinos first points on the board. The Dinos then went on a 15-2 run till about the three minute mark in the first , and outscored the Hawks 20-9 in the quarter.

Quarter two was all defense all the time for Carbon, as they held North Sanpete scoreless going into the locker room up at halftime 35-9.

Even though the Carbon lead was safe in the second half, in the third quarter the Hawks turned up their defensive intensity by playing press defense, but Carbon maintained their lead headed to the final eight minutes up 48-21. Carbon pushed their way through the fourth and came away with the 60-32 win.

Along with Jensen and Timothy, Tatum Tanner added nine points with seven boards and Haley Garrish put up nine and nine rebounds. The Dinos also shot 40% from the field and 54% from the line. Defensively they created 19 turnovers while keeping their own to a minimum.

Now for the Lady Dinos it’s a weekend in Richfield for the 2A/3A preview, where they will face Ogden (3-3) and Layton Christian (7-2) on Saturday.

They return home on January 13 when they welcome Canyon View to Price.
