The Carbon County Family Support and Children’s Justice Center’s Director Shelley Wright was excited to come into Castle Country Radio Station to report on the success of this year’s Christmas Tree Regalia.

“This was probably one of the biggest successes of the Regalia that we’ve had, it’s been amazing. I know we’re still working out the final figures and some expenses still trying to figure out but it was around $45,000.00 is what the friends was able to raise for this year’s Regalia and we can’t be more pleased, and more excited, and thrilled to hear how successful this event was,” said Wright. This would not be possible without all the businesses who decorated and donated the trees, as well as the businesses that displayed the trees throughout Main Street.

The Friends Boards who put the event together each year works very hard to make sure that everything runs smoothly. “The members of the Friends Board spend countless hours putting this event on, I know that they start clear back in August. Not only does the friends put all this support and time into making this event successful but the members of the community who come out. The individuals who bid on the trees and the different groups who come in and donate their time to help put together the event, clean up the event,” said Wright. Everyone just came together to support the event that ran from Nov. 10 through Dec. 3.

One of the services that the Family Support Center and Children’s Justice Center provides is a Crisis Nursery facility. “Financial stress is probably the top of the stress chain, if you will. We see parents that need the extra support, need an opportunity to take just a little bit of a break, especially if they are going through these high stressed times. Sometimes trying to manage children and care for them when you’re highly stressed can be very difficult. So we want the community to know that we are going to be there to support you, please call the center, let us try to help you, and see if we can’t schedule a couple of hours so you can take that break,” explained Wright. The Family Support Center offers child care for emergencies, crisis care, respite care, shelter care.
