
The Emery Spartan swimmers traveled to Richfield to face three other schools, and as has been the case at quite a few meets this season, it was a clean sweep for both the boys and the girls as they each finished in first place.
The Lady Spartans once again garnered a first place finish followed by Grand. Host school Richfield claimed third and South Sevier fourth.
It was a big day for Aubrey Guymon who earned a first place finish in the 100 fly turning in a time of 1:05.51, and with a time of 1:06.99 she claimed a first place finish in the 100 backstroke, and breaking a school record held by her sister, Haley since January of 2021.
Melody Lake claimed two top finishes in the 200 IM with a time of 2:35.62, and also in the 100 breaststroke, turning in time of 1:14.50. Sydney Carter also earned a first place in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.58, Carter would also earn second place in the 200 yard free.
Carley Young had a second place in the 100 breaststroke and Purity Mason took third in the 50 free.
In relays, the team of Carter, Lake, Guymon and Aspen Jensen took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:09.06. In the 200 free relay Emery took the top two spots, in first place the team of Mason along with Abby Morris, Amy Sorensen and Ashlyn Durrant with their time of 2:04.12 and in second, Kallee Lake, Acelyn Miglori, Emma Grim and Jabry Sharp were just behind with 2:11.61. the 400 free relay was another top finish for Emery as the team of Carter, Melody Lake, Morris and Guymon turned in a time of 4:16.69
On the boys side the finishing spots were actually the same as the girls, with Emery on top followed by Grand, Richfield and South Sevier.
Some of the top finishes for the Spartans came from Jacob Fauver, who earned three second place finishes in the 400 free, 100 free and 50 free. Bryant Durrant had a pair of third place finishes in both the thee 100 free and 200 free. Tyler Frandsen, had a second place finish in the 100 backstroke, and a third in the 100 fly. Alex Fredrick, had a second place finish in the 500 and a third in the 50 free. Kade Larsen had a third place in the 200 IM.
Durrant, Fauver, Frandsen and Larsen took first with a time of 1:41.51 in the 200 free relay. Fredrick, Will Stilson, Parker Jensen and Chase Hubbard claimed second in the 200 medley relay, and Frandsen, Larsen, Fauver and Durrant finished second in the 400 free relay and the team of Jensen, Stilson, Huggard and Mason Stewart finished in third.
