In two of the past three games, the Lady Dinos have held their opponents to just 22 points in the game. The final regular season game of the 2022 calendar year was a one-sided competition as Carbon dominated Manti 50-22.

The Lady Dinos started the game with dominant defense that held strong throughout all four quarters.

Carbon jumped out to an early 16-7 lead and built the lead to 20 before the halftime break. The Lady Dinos took a 33-13 lead into the locker room after the first two quarters.
Carbon’s defense remained strong to start the second half despite offensive woes by both teams. Manti and Carbon combined for just 10 points in the third quarter, Manti outscoring the Lady Dinos 6-4.

Carbon was determined to make sure the door was put out of reach as the Lady Dinos held Manti to just three points in the quarter. Offensively, Carbon scored 13 points to solidify the 28-point victory.

Madison Orth recorded her second-straight double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Haley Garrish finished with nine points and eight rebounds as Amiah Timothy and Kennedy Williams each tallied eight points and five assists.

Williams also had five steals as the Lady Dinos forced 17 steals and 25 total turnovers. Carbon also outrebounded the Templars 55-31 while forcing Manti to shoot just 14% from the field.

The win pushes Carbon’s overall record to 9-3 on the season with just one more non-region game to play before region play begins.

The Lady Dinos will next play on Tuesday, Jan. 3 against the Union Cougars in Roosevelt. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
