Megan Jensen scored a team best 16 points to lead the Emery Lady Spartans past the South Sevier Rams 70-40 Tuesday night on the road in Monroe.

Improving to 2-0 with the lopsided win, the Lady Spartans once again used a quick start to develop a comfortable lead, this time 38-19 going into half time. The third quarter was much of the same as Emery outscored the Rams 19-6.

Bailey Huggard helped pace the Emery offense with 12 points as 12 different players scored at least one point. Kacelyn Toomer, Kinlee Toomer and Lainee Jensen each scored nine points, and Adri Childs finished with four.

Kaylie Jensen provided the lone positive for the Rams in the double-digit setback, finishing with a game-high 20 points. Kenzie Jones was the next highest scorer for South Sevier as she ended with five points.

Tuesday’s win improves Emery to 2-0 on the season, with both wins coming on the road by a combined 58 points. The Lady Spartans will now begin a three-game homestand on Friday when they welcome in unbeaten North Summit.
