Our loving mother, grandmother, friend and “The Boss,” Olive Shirleen Jensen McArthur, passed peacefully December 31, 2022 in Ferron at the age of 86.

She was born June 3, 1936 in Huntington, Utah to Olef Carl and Sarah Ellen White Jensen.  On January 2, 1954, she married Perry J. McArthur in Lawrence, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.  Perry preceded her in death on June 9, 2010.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Olive resided her entire life in Emery County where she was able to work in the school district for 42 years. Olive lived life to the fullest and she loved spending time with family, especially watching her grandkids sporting events.  She also loved watching the Utah Jazz and Colorado Rockies, but most of all she enjoyed her daily trips to the desert to look over her cows and be with her dog, “Little Joe.”  Olive touched the lives of many and her legacy will be cherished for generations.

She is survived by her children, Mavoreen Anderson, Foster C. (Debra) McArthur, Terry B. (Sandy) McArthur, Alan K. (Julie) McArthur, all of Huntington, Charlene (Kevin) Peacock, Orangeville, Arthur J. (Lori) McArthur, Huntington; sister-in-law, Dixie (Bill) Allred, Cleveland; 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Perry McArthur; son-in-law, Gale Anderson; and three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral service, Thursday, January 5, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Huntington Stake Center.  Family will receive friends at Miller’s Landing (Mitchell Funeral Home, 123 North Main) in Huntington Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and at the church Thursday one hour prior to service.  Interment, Huntington City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Huntington and Price where friends are welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
