Thursday night the Dinos traveled to Cedar City to take on the Canyon View Falcons. Canyon View sits at 12-7 with a 2-3 Region 12 mark. This was the second time these two teams had met this year, the result of the first game back on January 13, was a Carbon win in Price. This time around on Canyon View’s home floor the result was much of the same as the Lady Dinos earned a 52-38 victory moving their Region 12 mark to 4-1 with just one game left in the regular season.

The Dinos have a 14-5 overall record and sit in the No. 4 spot in the RPI for the 3A classification behind No.1 Grantsville, fellow Region 12 member Richfield at No.2 and Morgan at No.3, with one game left in the regular season and the 3A State Championships starting on February 14.

The Dinos came out firing in the first quarter starting quickly putting up 21. In the second, they dialed back just a bit, but still maintained a healthy lead going into the half up 35-18.

In the third, the Dinos got quiet, putting up just six points, but the lead that they had built was never in any jeopardy and continued their momentum into the fourth walking away with a 14 point 52-38 victory.

Amiah Timothy put 17 points on the board to lead the Lady Dinos, along with four rebounds, three assists and five steals in a well rounded effort. Madi Orth scored 13 with four boards, two assists and three steals and Haley Garrish had eight with seven rebounds in the win.

The final regular season game for the Lady Dinos is a big one against the Emery Lady Spartans at home.

The Lady Spartans have a 9-9 record including an 0-5 region mark, they also sit on the No. 10 spot in the RPI.
