The Carbon Lady Dinos remained unbeaten on the season by winning four games in three days at the Shannon Johnson Johnson Classic Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Uintah.

Playing two games on Thursday the Lady Dinos defeated the Union Cougars in the first game 54-40. The win marked the second in as many games this year against Union, the first coming in the season opener on Nov. 22.

Lindsey Blanc all scorers in the win with 15 points, while handing out six assists and accumulating six steals. Kelsey Sorenson finished with nine points and Cyene Bigelow contributed eight in the win.

Holding Union to just four points in the opening quarter, the Lady Dinos immediately captured a double-digit lead. Similar to the season opener, the quick start led to a simple second half where Carbon outscored Union 25-22.

Later Thursday evening the Lady Dinos took the court a second time, and dominated Orem for a 63-6 victory.

13 different players scored at least one-point as Carbon rolled to the largest margin victory under head coach Ted Bianco. Blanc once again led the Lady Dinos with a 14 point performance. Bigelow chipped in with four points, eight rebounds and five steals.

Entering Friday’s contest 3-0 on the season, the Lady Dinos were faced with their biggest challenge in the early portion of the season. Trailing by one-point at half time, Carbon outscored Mountain Crest by 12 in the final 16 minutes to earn a 58-47 win.

Sorenson paced the Lady Dinos as she scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Chandelle Nichols knocked down three shots from beyond the arc to finish with 10 points, and Blanc continued her stellar play with 10 points and four steals.

Carbon completed the four-game road trip with a wire-to-wire 65-27 win over the host school Uintah Saturday evening, running their unbeaten record to 5-0 in the process.

Outscoring the Utes 19-3 in the first quarter, the Lady Dinos once again waltzed to a victory for their fifth double-digit win in as many games.

Blanc again led the team in scoring as she finished with 13 to go along with eight assists and three steals. McKenna Sorenson poured in 11 points and Kelsey Sorenson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.

Now 5-0 the Lady Dinos will look to keep their unbeaten record intact as they prepare to travel to Colorado for three-day tournament, again on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
