An early morning fire at 2085 Carbonville Road in Helper left a family displaced as both Price and Helper Fire Departments responded to the call around 6:20 am.

“The fire has been ruled as accidental and unfortunately the home is a total loss for the young couple,” said Price City Fire Chief, Paul Bedont. “The homeowners had working smoke alarms and that is what notified the residents of the fire and to exit the home immediately.” The home was owned by Brandon and Nicole Olsen. Olsen fire2

Bedont suggest that community members make sure that their smoke alarms as well as CO2 detectors are in working order. If you or your loved ones do not have currently in the home, they would both make great Christmas gift ideas.

A Breakfast Fundraiser with 100% of proceeds going to the family has been organized for Sunday, Dec. 11 at 8:00 am till 1:00 pm at Sherald’s Frosty Freeze at 434 East Main Street in Price.
