Janet Dee Bryan Barney, age 76, passed away peacefully March 16th, 2023 in Price.

She was born July 1st, 1946 in Kenilworth, UT to Elizabeth Jewkes and Theodore Clinton Bryan. Janet married John Delbert Barney on March 5th, 1965; later divorced. Together they had three boys, John Daniel Barney, James David Barney, and Jason Douglas Barney; all five with the same initials JDB. She has two special daughters that she waited a long time for, Teri Barney and Gissella Barney, whom she constantly loved and laughed with. The girls absolutely adored Janet.

She truly loved her family, especially the grandkids: Dano, Mykell, Ashley, Nicole, and Katelinn. The light of her life came with the arrival of her great-grandkids: Edith, Madilyn, Owen, and Noah.

Janet had many special friends in her life, especially Diane Richards, Lynnda Buchanan, and Leslie Keele. She worked for KeyBank for 21 years and eventually retired, making more special friendships with her coworkers, Shelly, Soleil and Leigh.

In her younger years she played softball. She also bowled for many years. Her love for competition led her to watching the Utah Jazz. She also enjoyed tennis, so much so that her son, David, took her to the US Open in New York. She never missed a match on TV.

Janet had a great love for camping and fishing with her family, especially her three boys, whom she out-fished every time; sometimes even catching two fish at a time. Her camp stories will be cherished by her family forever.

Her favorite time of year was Thanksgiving when she could be surrounded by the entire family and have some of the best card games together. These gatherings always brought much love and laughter into the home.

Janet is survived by her two sons, Danny (Teri) Barney, Helper, UT, Jason (Gissella) Barney, Alabama; brother, Roger Bryan; sister, Susan (Kelly) Nielson; along with her five grandkids and four great-grandkids.

Preceded in death by her parents, son, David Barney; brothers, Stuart Bryan and Troy Bryan; sister-in-law, Lori Bryan.

A special thank you to Parkdale Health & Rehab, especially Bridget, for the great care, comfort, and immense love they provided Janet.

Per Janet’s wishes, she was cremated and a memorial BBQ will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends and family are always welcome and may share memories of Janet online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
