It’s time to sit down with Emery County Commissioner Jordan Leonard to find out about some upcoming events and highlight the aquatic center on a job well done. Castle Country Radio will now have an opportunity every other week to speak with the commissioner to keep citizens informed on the latest news and events.
Springtime in Emery County is sure to bring you several fun family events. The Green River Dirt Bike Rally is coming up really soon and registration is currently full, they are pleased with the turnout this year. The next event coming up is the Mecca Bike Festival as Leonard explains, “Another event that’s exciting is the Mecca Spring Bike Festival. So those of you that like to ride mountain bikes that will be headquartered out of Buckhorn RV in Huntington. You can go to https://www.biketheswell.org/ to sign up and that’s April 28th through the 30th. So if you are a mountain bike enthusiast look into that one.” Interested cyclists can visit the website to see more information and the itinerary for the weekend festivities.
“Then the last event to mention this week will be the Swell OHV Jamboree. This is for those OHV enthusiasts. This event will be held out at Big Mountain Lodge in Ferron. You can go to https://www.bigmountainlodgeutah.com/ and that event is April 27th and 28th. Each time Castle Country Radio speaks with Commissioner Leonard he likes to take some time to highlight a county department for a job well done. This time around the spotlight shines on the Emery County Aquatic Center. “So our aquatic center they’ve done some improvements, done some repainting. We approved in commission meeting yesterday to do some improvements in the outdoor facility, the outdoor pool. We’ll refurbish the slide, and do some maintenance work out there so that it’s fun for the public, comfortable, looks nice and the slide works correctly. So excited for the aquatic center and all they do for our community. I think it’s truly a benefit to Carbon and Emery County,” said Leonard. The swimming pool is a great place for parties, family reunions, work parties, church parties, birthday parties, and any kind of get-together.
