The Helper Saturday Vibes gatherings are kicking off on May 13 running through till September. This community get-together has a slew of activities, food, and music for the entire family to enjoy. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Executive Director, Allie Farnham and Vendor Manager, Rachel Barbee to discuss all the details.

The kick-off to Helper Saturday Vibes has a theme this weekend called Everything Animal and there will be several activities scheduled to show off your animals. “The Pet Parade is going to start at the same place as last year which is right in front of Matsuda Acupuncture, so that is at 7:00 pm on Main Street. So once the first band comes off the stage, we’ll rally we’ll meet at Matsuda. We’re going to head over to the River Walk Trail, we’ll go south on the River Walk Trail, cut back over to Main Street at the Conoco 66, come down Main and then we’ll end at the park. Which is where our new Pet Costume Contest will begin,” said Farnham. Organizers encourage all pets to dress in their finest costumes and owners can too. There will be prizes awarded to the best-dressed pet. Just a reminder to please pick up after your pet, and be sure to keep all pets leashed throughout the event for their safety. You may wish to leave your buddy at home if they shy away from loud noises and crowds. Dog water will be available in the park.

The entertainment for the evening will begin at 5:00 pm on the Main Street Stage.  “First thing I will say is, we have 19 new bands this year, that is a lot of new fresh energy on the stage, we’re super excited about it. The first band opening the season will be The Bombshell Flowers, and they are Alternative Indie Rock. They’re really young and fresh, and have a bunch of energy, very excited to welcome them to Helper, I think this will be there first time coming down. Then from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm closing the stage we have Picky Out the Stingers, I just love that band name, and they are Bluegrass, like true amazing Bluegrass, super talented musicians,” said Farnham. Guests are urged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets so that they can sit and enjoy the entertainment for the night.

There will be lots of food trucks for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. “We’ve got some great food trucks again for this first event. We’ve got Iceberg Shake Truck is coming back down, that was a huge hit last year.  We’re going to have all our favorite locals, Rubens, Dee’s Kitchen, Angel’s Craving, and we also have a new vendor Country Confections that will be bringing a lot of sweet treats and ice cream,” said Barbee. All items are very reasonably priced and delicious.

This is a family friendly gathering so there will be activities for the children to enjoy too. Individuals wanting more information about Helper Saturday Vibes can visit their social media pages or website.
