On June 4, 2023 our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend let go of her small, frail, earthly body and donned a pair of flawless and majestic wings as she became one of Heaven’s angels, taking her place among the stars to forever shine her light from above.
Carolyn Jensen was born to Dorothy and Phillo Jensen on August 12, 1946, the eldest of seven children. On one fateful March night, on a blind date, she met the love of her life, Mayo Keith Young. Their connection lasted despite losing contact, and on September 8, 1964, they cemented their love and lives together in marriage. Their love, as confirmed by any that saw them together, was meant to be. Together, over their fifty-nine-year marriage, they have welcomed five children, fifteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Those who knew Carolyn were blessed to know her. She was a loving and kind soul, one who didn’t back down from a challenge. Her passion and bright personality shone in all aspects of her life, leaving smiles wherever she went and forming special connections with the youth she loved so much. Carolyn had a deep love of reading, bingo, theater, crocheting, and most of all her family. Her sweet and silly nature will always be felt and remembered by her loved ones.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Mayo Young of Price, Utah; her children, David (Karen) Young of Taylorsville, Utah, Cindy Bohnke of Kearns, Utah, Sarinda (Frank) Krogman, of Price, Utah, Jennifer Young (Chris Baum) of Tooele, Utah, and Melissa (Richard) Krider of Bremerton, Washington; her fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; her father-in-law, Mayo Balle Young; her mother-law, Madge Braithwaite Young as well as Alice Young and Wanda Young; and her son-in-law, Gary Bohnke. She was joined in Heaven by her great-granddaughter, Elaene Jean Horton-Holley a few days after her own passing.
A celebration of life will be held at Terrace Hills Park (1050 East 700 North) in Price on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in Carolyn’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Carolyn online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
