The Third Annual Carbon County Community Cares Christmas Dinner will be held on Christmas Day from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm inside the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center on the campus of USU-Eastern. Carbon County Community Cares is a non-profit organization that feeds members of the community and students for the Christmas holiday.

Brenda Deeter spoke about how the annual dinner was started, “It started out being for low income, Veterans and kids that can’t go home for the holidays, people that are by themselves, you know things like that. Its basically for anybody that wants to come over and have a Christmas dinner.”  Last year they served approximately 200 individuals a delicious Christmas dinner with all the fixings.

Shuttle services will be available with stops in East Carbon, Helper, Wellington and Price. Additionally, Event Organizers will make food deliveries to anyone that may be homebound, alone and unable to leave their home. “We need volunteers on the 24th and then on the 25th we’re going to do deliveries, we’ll need volunteers for that from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Of course, we will have the cleanup that we will start doing at 4 o’clock,” stated Deeter.

If you know any community members who would benefit from this dinner whether it be needing the shuttle, delivery services or to sign-up to volunteer please call 820-6631 or 820-8140
