Carole Saccomanno Barker, age 77, passed into the arms of her Savior peacefully at the Heirloom Inn on June 17, 2023.
She was born on July 6, 1945 in Price, Utah to Charlie and Grace Saccomanno and she grew up as the middle child of five siblings. Carole’s upbringing was deeply rooted in family and she lived most of her life on the family farm where she raised her own children alongside her parents and brother.
On May 26, 1961 Carole married her soulmate and best friend, Seldon Barker. Their union was blessed with three children and Carole poured her heart into caring for her family. Her greatest joy in life was worrying about her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids; always making sure to keep in touch and offer her unwavering support. She had a knack for gossip and cherished the moments spent on the phone catching up with loved ones.
During the last year of her life, Carole resided at the Heirloom Inn where she had a truly remarkable time. She was deeply grateful for the numerous friendships she developed there and she treasured the companionship of her special friends, Judy and Dolly. Together, the three of them were affectionately known as the “three troublemakers.”
Carole is survived by her three children, Torie Snyder, Dawn (Steve) Manzanares, and Dirk Barker, all of Price. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Marie Lodder of Bountiful, Toni Greco of Salt Lake City, and Valerie Stamatakis of Price; as well as her brother Ralph (Mickey) Saccomanno of Spring Glen, who will deeply miss their beloved sister.
Carole is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Seldon Barker; her son, Chan Snyder; as well as her parents, Charlie and Grace Saccomanno; and her in-laws, Raymond and Mary Barker.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the residences and staff at the Heirloom Inn for the immeasurable joy and exceptional care they provided to Carole during the last year of her life. Their compassion and support brought comfort to her and her loved ones during a challenging time.
Funeral services for Carole are scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
