Wayne Dulan Rasmussen passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his 5 children. Wayne was blessed to have 2 mothers who loved him more than life itself. He was born November 6, 1948 to Lillian Werner in Salt Lake City, UT. Circumstances did not allow her to care for him and Wayne was blessed with his amazing parents, Dulan Oliver Rasmussen and Della Mae Tucker. He was raised in Kenilworth and Spring Glen, UT.
Wayne graduated from Carbon High School and attended BYU after serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York and Connecticut. He married Jacquelyn Ann Cunningham on April 16, 1971. They were blessed with 5 children and a bonus son. He was proud to be a Coal Miner’s son and followed in his Father’s footsteps. He worked in the coal mines in Carbon County until they shut down. He then went back to school to be a Journeyman Electrician and began working at Geneva Steele. Wayne and Jacque and their family moved from Spring Glen to Nephi in 1990. Wayne loved the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He was a jokester and loved playing tricks on people. His favorite things were staying up late watching movies and drinking Pepsi. But his greatest joy was his grandchildren Kayden, Khylen, Alix, Elliot, Annaliese, Dillon, Harley, Kamri, Saydee, and Owen.
He is survived by his five children, Kami, Heather (Mat), Trevor (Mins), Holly (Brent), Travis, and Jesse; his 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn; birth mother, Lillian; parents, Dulan and Della; stepmom, Agnes; and brother, Ken. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Our family would like to thank the Mt. View Hospital ICU staff especially Jessie, RN for the care provided; and iCare Hospice, along with Bonnie Ballard, for her love and care provided over the last few weeks.
