Price City’s International Days celebration is set to take place on August 2 through August 5. This annual celebration is for the entire community to come together for live performances, events, and activities. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with City Council Member Layne Miller and Parade Coordinator, Megan Marshall to discuss all the details.
Right now, the city is taking nominations for the Grand Marshall and Citizen of the Year and the last day to submit a nomination is coming up in a couple days. “A few years ago, we opened up nominations to the public that they could nominate a Grand Marshall and a Citizen of the Year. So we want to see those names, we want to see community members that have made an impact on our area, get them the recognition that they deserve. Jump on Price City’s website, and throw in those nominations as soon as you can, the deadline is this coming Sunday the 16th,” explained Marshall. Anyone who wishes to submit a nomination can do so by visiting the Price City website at https://www.pricecityutah.com/
As you can see the annual city celebration will be starting earlier this year. “We’ve actually extended International Days a bit this year. We’re going to have the carnival start August 2, and then vendors and games in the park will be August 3. So you know the community asked, and we responded, we’re starting off August 2 and vendors in the park August 3,” stated Marshall. Keep in mind that the opening ceremonies and Culture Connection concert will be held at the Peace Gardens on Main Street on the evening of August 3. All the fun activities that you’ve come to enjoy each year like the free swim, games, entertainment, tournaments, car show, music and movies can all be enjoyed for three full days in Washington Park.
The Grand Parade will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 10:00 am on Main Street. “The Grand Parade that’s certainly my favorite part. Just seeing the elaborately decorated floats and I’ve really seen that the last two years how people are stepping up their decorating game. We certainly increased the incentive for trophies and plaques being awarded – best decorated, best use of theme, and best family entry. The Grand Parade is a ton of fun,” said Marshall. This is a great way to freely advertise your business and/or organization to the community. Anyone wishing to register an entry in the parade may do so on Price City website at https://www.pricecityutah.com/
