Mom always said, “A day to be born and a day to die – not a day sooner.”
Dulce was born in LaJara, Colorado. She was a wife and a mother to 12 children. Dulce was also a caregiver to others, neighbors, and elderly people in the community who needed care and didn’t have anyone to help them.
She was a long-time resident of Dragerton/East Carbon City, Utah. She and her husband, Fernando (Fred) arrived after their honeymoon and stayed when Dad got a job in the coal mine; that is where they settled for 78 years. Mom and Dad raised 12 children until dad’s passing in 1973. Then mom took on the role of both parents to eight children who were still at home. Mom’s legacy included 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her 12 children, Margaret Garcia (Robert-deceased), Eleanor Ortez, Mary Jane Wallace (David-deceased), William and Jeanna Vigil, Dan Vigil (Toni-deceased), Robert and Annette Vigil, Vivian and Richard Garcia, Becky and Stan Coulter, Tom Vigil (Lori), Adeline Wilson (Gene-deceased), David Vigil and Alice and Mike Hill.
