The Lady Spartan soccer squad has had a tough 2023. Almost one month into the season, they are still looking for that elusive first win. Thursday they made the trip to Mount Pleasant to face North Sanpete, falling to the Hawks 10-0.

Emery has a 0-6 record overall and a 0-4 Region 12 record and this Thursday the Utah High School Activities Association will release the first RPI rankings of the year. Those stats will then be updated after every game and will be used to set seeding at the end of the season for tournament play.

North Sanpete came out in the opening half putting six goals on the board to take a 6-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, it was more of the same as the Hawks put up four more in the second half, taking the 10-0 win.

North Sanpete senior Adelay Stevens had four goals in the contest and Jessica Applegarth added three more.

The Spartans go back on the road Tuesday to Nephi to take on Juab. After that, they will be back home to face Richfield on Thursday.
