015-7

On Thursday morning the Carbon soccer team found out it was the No. 6 team in 3A as they prepared to face the Manti Templars at home. By Thursday night they would claim the No. 5 spot with a win over Manti 3-2.

The Utah High School Activities Association released it’s initial RPI rankings Thursday and had the Dinos sitting in the sixth spot. Manti was and is still ranked No. 2 and the win propelled Carbon up one spot to five.

The Dinos came out and put two goals on the Templars in the first half and defensively kept them from finding the back of the net.  In half two, Manti’s Kaylee Perry and Kenzie Chidester each scored on goal knotting the contest up at two goals each, The Lady Dinos would break that tie and earn the 3-2 victory.

Amiah Timothy had a pair of goals for Carbon in the win, Mia Crompton also found the back of the net for the Dinos. Fortune Ward, Bailey Johnson and Kenzie Morgan would each earn an assist and Ward collected 12 saves in goal.

The Dinos will take some time off and won’t head back to the pitch until Thursday when they will welcome in the Emery Spartans.

Game time is set for 4:00 p.m..
