Timothy Lynn Earl (Tim), age 51, passed away on September 9, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident.

Tim was born November 29, 1971, to Kim and Linda Jensen Earl. He was the second child and oldest son. Tim grew up in Huntington, Utah. As a child, he enjoyed fishing, basketball, baseball, camping in Joe’s Valley at the family pasture, wrestling on the Canyon View Junior High wrestling team, and riding motorcycles. With five children in the home, Tim was often known as the “peace-maker” and was very kind-hearted. He always wanted to help his mom with the house and yard work and was a considerate son. Tim was the best babysitter in the family and often looked out for his siblings. On one occasion, when his brother was going to be punished, Tim was devastated and offered to take the punishment for him. After Tim’s display of love for his brother, of course, no one was punished. Throughout his life, Tim showed this same compassion to others.

Tim loved horses; his Grandpa Jensen gifted him a horse named Mac. He worked tirelessly to train this horse so he could use it for riding club events and loved participating in the club. Tim spent many days on the mountain with his grandfather, helping with the horses and cows. His grandpa loved having Tim with him because he was a great listener and hard worker. Tim also had a fondness for dogs and spent many years with his favorite dog, Sadie, as his companion.

Tim attended Emery County schools and also worked at the family furniture business, Earl’s Bargains. He later spent many years working as a brick mason. He was very handy and could fix anything. At one point, he used parts from four wrecked 1978-79 Chevrolet trucks to make one good truck. Tim drove this truck for several years.

Tim was thrilled when he became a father to his daughter, TraLynn, and a step-father to her sister, Kylee. In 2007, Tim moved to Vernal and worked in the oil fields. While in Vernal, he met and married LuRetta Bond. He became a stepfather to her six children and loved being a part of this family. They later divorced, but remained good friends.

Tim loved talking to people, and as a result, he made friends wherever he went. He kept in contact with many of them and frequently made phone calls to check-in on everyone. Tim was unfailingly willing to share whatever he had with others and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Whatever was happening in his life, he had an optimistic outlook and brought happiness to others. He loved his parents and siblings and made sure they knew how much he cared about them. To his family, he will always be remembered for his hardworking nature, love of loud music, great hair, witty humor, constant light-hearted teasing, kind heart, for making chocolate chip cookie dough and eating it before it could be baked, and for his contagious smile and laugh. Tim was a wonderful son, brother, husband, uncle, and friend. He was a member of the LDS church. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him. We love you Timmy!

Tim is survived by his mother, Linda; daughter, TraLynn (Riley); granddaughters, Rilynn and Rhettlee; siblings, Kimberlee (Ed), Jeff (Randi), Randy (April), and Ilene (Brad); 21 nieces and nephews; stepmother, Sharon; and step children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Kim; stepfather, John; grandparents, Ward and Ilene Jensen and George and Mary Earl; and a grandson, Ryker.

Funeral services for Tim will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Miller’s Landing (123 North Main Street) in Huntington, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Castle Dale City Cemetery.
