Carbon Dino volleyball took over the No. 1 spot in the RPI last week with their win over No. 2 Emery. With the focus solely on placement in the State Championships coming up in October, the Dinos got back to work on Tuesday night when No. 10 North Sanpete came to Price. The Lady Dinos dispatched the Hawks in three straight sets to move to 11-2 overall, and 6-1 in region play.
Region 12 is a tough place to be as the top three teams (Carbon, Emery, and Canyon View) all reside there, Delta No. 7, and Manti No.8 call the league home as well.
Carbon got to work in the first set 25-20. The second set was all about Carbon as the Dinos didn’t seem to let the Hawks up for air taking the 25-14 win. North Sanpete refused to go away easily though fighting with the Dinos in the third set, but Carbon found the 25-22 win, earning the 3-0 match victory.
Carbon will get back on the court on Thursday night when they welcome the Juab Wasps to Price for the final regular season meeting between the two teams. The first meeting was a 3-0 Carbon win in Nephi back in August.
Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
