Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Juanita Percides Martinez, peacefully passed away September 24, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

She was born June 24, 1932 in Ortiz, New Mexico to Jose Hilaro and Eloisa Valdez Ruybal. She married David Angel Martinez on July 13, 1953. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1998.

Juanita was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and dear friend who will be missed by all. She enjoyed embroidery, puzzles, coloring, watching her Denver Broncos and spending time with children and grandchildren.

She was a loving mother of Pauline Martinez, Price, Utah, Francis (Martin) Gallegos, Melody (Frank) Martinez, Colorado, David Martinez, Helper, Utah, Jenny Martinez, Price, Utah, Ronnie (Geri) Martinez, Colorado, Dolores Martinez, Colorado, Victor Martinez, Colorado, Mary Martinez, Colorado, Richard (Deanna) Martinez, Colorado, Donald (Marie) Martinez, Helper, Utah, Connie Martinez, Nevada; and grandmother of 39 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

Juanita is survived by five daughters and four sons; siblings, Sadie (Herman) Gandora, Colorado, Demecio (Mary Ann) Ruybal, Colorado, Cora (Alonzo) Cisneros, Utah, Mary (Tom) Romero, Colorado.

Preceded in death by parents, husband, siblings: Sam, Evila, Dennis, Leo, Helen; children, Pauline, Dolores, Ronnie; and grandchildren, Mike and Marty.

Funeral mass, Friday, September 29, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (6633 Co. Rd 13, Antonito, CO 81120). The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., with the Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m.. Interment, Los Cerritos Cemetery (Co Rd M, Manassa, CO 81141).
