The Dinos were on the road for the final time in the regular season on Friday, when they traveled to Nephi to face the Juab Wasps. Juab put up 42 points in the first half on their way to handing Carbon a 49-7 loss.

Juab is coming off of a tremendous campaign in 2022 when they were ranked as the No.1 team in the state and lost to State Champions Morgan in last season’s championship. Some may look at this as a down year for their program, but even so, they have compiled a 5-4 record in 2023.

On Friday the Dinos came out and couldn’t get a handle on the Wasps’ rushing attack as Juab’s Ryan Robinson rattled off a 20-yard touchdown run at the 11:06 mark of the first quarter, they would have two more rushing touchdowns in the quarter.

In the second quarter, they took to the air on a 62-yard pass from Austin Park to Jaden Heap. Juab added two more scores in the half to put the game at 42-0 going into the locker room.

With the score 49-0 in the fourth quarter, Carbon quarterback Stockton Kennedy had the only Dino score of the game on a 2-yard scamper.

Carbon now sits at 1-8 with one game left before the playoffs begin. The RPI has been taken down and will not be visible again until Saturday and at that point, the Dinos will know who their opening-round opponent will be. If there is no movement in the ranking then it would be a meeting with No. 5 Grantsville.

The Dinos will prepare for Canyon View to come to town on Thursday night, for what will be Senior Night, as Carbon will recognize the seniors on this year’s squad.

The game is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m., if you can’t make it to the game we will have you covered. The Landon’s Diesel Service Pre-game will start at 6:30 on KRPX 95.3 The Peak. You can also stream the action at castlecountryradio.com and on the Castle Country Radio app.
