The Lady Dino volleyball squad traveled to Richfield for the Sevier Valley Tournament at Snow College. With the season winding down, Carbon took on teams from around the state across different classifications ending the weekend with a 4-1 record.

Carbon has just three games left on the schedule once they resume play on Tuesday against Manti.

The Dinos got started on Friday against South Summit. In the opening set, Summit wouldn’t give an inch battling with the Dinos back-and-forth until Carbon took the 25-22 win. Set number two was also a fight with the Dinos taking the 25-21 win, and earning the match win in straight sets with a 25-23 victory in the third set.

In match two the Dinos squared up with Grantsville. The match with the Cowboys was almost a copy of the match with South Summit, Carbon took set one by the score of 25-22. In set two, the Dinos took care of business by the score of 25-10.  Set three was another close one with Carbon edging out the 25-21 win.

On Saturday the Dinos got started with Payson, and it was another straight-set win for the Lady Dinos 25-19, 25-20, and 25-20.  The second match of the day came against the No.1 team in 2A Parowan. Carbon was evenly matched, however, Parowan edged out the Dinos in three straight sets 25-20, 25-23, and 25-18, handing Carbon their only loss of the tournament.

The final match of the weekend pitted Carbon against North Summit. Coming out the Dinos claimed the first two sets 25-16 and 25-17. In the third set, North Summit got one past Carbon taking a 25-23 win. The Lady Dinos roared back in the fourth set to take the 28-26 win.

Carbon sits at 18-4 overall carrying a 9-2 Region 12 mark, they also sit on top of the RPI rankings at No.1.

They will get back to work on Tuesday when the No. 5 Manti Templars (16-9, 8-3) come to Price.
