Mary P. Velasquez Gonzales, age 75, passed peacefully at her home on October 7, 2023.
She was born December 19, 1947 in Fruita, Colorado to Ben Velasquez and Manuelita Serrano Velasquez.
She met the love of her life, Tony Gonzales, and they were later married on February 28, 1970 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Mary spent many years working hard and eventually retired from Intermountain Healthcare in Murray, Utah. After retirement, Mary and Tony moved back to Price. Tony passed on October 19, 2013. Since then, Mary has tried to live her best life by becoming involved with the Senior Citizen Center and helped with many different activities including BINGO, puzzles, and assisting with lunch time, which were her favorites, of course. She also made many friends there, including her best friend, Mary Meza. And a special thanks to Tammy Vea and Camilla Bryson from the Senior Citizen Center for the many trips she went on including, Wendover, Louisiana, etc.
She was a spitfire with a heart of gold. She loved crocheting, spending time with family, constantly rearranging her home. She also enjoyed watching her grandkids and great-grandkids and always supported them, whether it was a sporting event or dance.
She is survived by her brother, Robert (Nancy) Velasquez; sister, Darlene Velasquez; daughters, Emily (James) Robertson, Millcreek, UT, Lisa (Jason) Turner, Magna, UT, Annette (Travis) Lake, St. George, UT; son, Ronnie (Jolene) Gonzales, Price, UT; 10 grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Koyle, Adrian (Ryan) Everett, MacKenzie Turner (Brad Stout), Kirsten (Clinton) Tucker, Tyson Lake (Jamie Swank), Justeen Gonzales (Josh Mills), Teya (Jaymon) Childs, Emilio Gonzales (Avery MaClean), and Luke Turner; 14 great-grandchildren, with Irely and Landon on the way.
Preceded in death by her father, Ben Velasquez; mother, Manuelita Serrano Velasquez; husband, Tony Gonzales; brother, Ben Velasquez, Jr.; and a grandson, Derek Turner.
