The Desert Wave Pool is excited to be hosting their annual Spook and Swim event on Oct. 27, 28 and Oct. 30 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Aquatics Director, Tamara Gray was eager to share all the event details with Castle Country Radio listeners.
She was sad to inform folks that the spooky boat rides will not be offered this year as the indoor pool is still in the middle of renovations. “Right, but next year it will be back, better than ever but we will still have our spook alley. We’ll have our open swim in the bubble. We’re also going to have two movies on the bubble, one on Friday, October 27 and one on Saturday, October 28. So you’ll have to come in and enjoy that. We’ll have a family friendly movie on Friday night, then we’ll do more of a horror movie for the older kids on Saturday,” said Gray. The great thing about the spook alley is it differs every year so it’s never the same. Regular admission rates apply.
The Carbon School District is having their Fall Break this week and Gray wanted to remind residents that the Desert Wave Pool adjusts their operating hours to accommodate students being out of school. “We’ll be open from noon till 8:00 pm this Thursday and Friday, as well as next Friday when school’s out, we try to open all day so it gives kids something to do,” explained Gray. Also opened is the Concession Stand so kids can get something delicious to eat while enjoying a day of swimming.
With the holidays slowly approaching the Desert Wave Pool can customize any of their passes for Christmas gifts. “We can customize any of our passes to fit any of your needs from water aerobics passes, we can do a family pass – a lot of grandparents don’t know what to get the grandkids or the families for Christmas and we have a lot that come in and buy a wave pool pass for the family for the whole year,” said Gray. Other ideas could include paying for a session of swim lessons or buying apparel or swimming goggles.
