carbon-dinos-2-2

Lady Dino Ada Bradford along with seven other Carbon student-athletes were recognized for their excellence in the classroom during the 2023 fall season with a selection to the Academic All-State team in their respective sport by the Utah High School Activities Association. Bradford was a two sport athlete receiving honors in both cross country and soccer.

Carbon’s cross country team had the most honorees with three. Bradford along with Lillian Seeley and Easton Hardy made the list. The cross country team will be back at it on October 24 when they take part in the State Championships at the Regional Sports Complex in Salt Lake City.

Bradford was also rewarded for her efforts on the soccer field along with Stella Smith. The Lady Dinos soccer season came to an end last Saturday when they lost their quarterfinals match to Ogden.

Both Alena Ison and Ella Anderson made the list for Lady Dinos tennis. The season came to a close on October 6, on the opening day of the State Championships at Liberty Park.

Cole Callahan was the sole member of the Carbon golf team. Their season came to an end last week at the State Golf Championships where Callahan shot a two day total +16 which tied home for 29th overall, and helping the Dinos finish in fourth place in 3A.

Each sport and activity season, the UHSAA will open nominations through RegisterMyAthlete. Parents/students will enter their RegisterMyAthlete account and click on the Academic All-State tab to enter their unweighted cumulative high school GPA, ACT/SAT score, and submit the nomination form. Schools will confirm the student-athlete is a varsity contributor, confirm the GPA and ACT/SAT score, verify the student is a senior, and upload a current transcript prior to submitting the nomination to the UHSAA by the specified deadline (View deadlines). The Academic All-State award will now be decided by either meeting an index score (View index) or having a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
