Castle Country Radio has selected Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center (CCPRC) as October’s Charity of the Month. For the duration of the month, the radio station showcases a local non-profit organization to bring awareness to listeners. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Director, Nikki Jeffs to discuss the services that they offer.
“We provide pregnancy tests, we provide a connection with other community members that people may need, such as heat or WIC or other resources through the health department, doctors, counselors, whatever it is they are needing or looking for. Also provide parenting and prenatal classes. With that they can earn Baby Bucks to shop in our store. In our store, we have new and gently used items for baby and momma. We also have a fatherhood series that we’ve had really good responses with some of the young men lately,” said Jeffs. CCPRC is a faith-based non-profit organization. They are committed to providing a safe place for those in need of information and support during pregnancy and beyond.
Because the CCPRC is a non-profit they rely heavily on donations to help stock their in-house store with various items needed for a newborn. Items can include baby wipes, baby shampoo/wash, diapers, receiving blankets, newborn/baby clothes. “All bottles and pacifiers need to be new, also car seats have to be brand new. Other that other items can be gently used. One of the things that we really do need right now is maternity clothes. We had a lot of pregnant clients going through classes in the last year and those have gone like crazy. Especially in the medium and large and extra large size we are hurting for some maternity clothes,” explained Jeffs. If you have items that you would like to donate you can drop them off at CCPRC at 865 East 100 North, Suite 5 in Price.
Mark your calendars for the First Annual CCPRC Fall Banquet taking place on Saturday, October 28 at 6:00 pm at the Notre Dame Hope Center on Carbon Avenue. “We’ve had some really generous sponsors this year that have help cover the venue, the food, the cooking of the food, the serving of the food, everything has been covered by amazing community members. We would really like people to take advantage that. So we don’t have to charge a cost to cover the overhead. However, we do need people to RSVP because we’re serving things like prime rib,” said Jeffs.
