The Carbon High Theatre Department will be hosting a production entitled The Addams Family on Nov. 15 through Nov. 20 at 7:00 pm at the Carbon High School Auditorium. Director, Mrs. Kayla Vernon stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about the play.

There is quite a process that goes in to determining a production to perform and there are many aspects to look at when deciding, as Mrs. Vernon explains, “First thing I do is consider a few shows, I look at what kind of cast we have, what budget we have, and just what would feel good for the community. So I narrow it down to a couple of different shows, and then throughout the year, I look at what possibilities we have, I look into resources that are available to us. I look at what the students that I have would really fit in to and what they would benefit from,” said Vernon. The process has several moving parts but in the end the drama department always picks a production that entertains the students and community.

“When I first read this show, I couldn’t put it down. Its is so full of love, and quick humor, and it just shows the importance of family, and the importance of embracing who you are,” said Vernon. The Drama Department held auditions in August so they have been rehearsing for the show for a while now and are so eager to perform for the students, faculty/staff and community members. The audience will enjoy the production as well as the set decorations are incredible.

“So the tickets are $10.00 each, we just have a flat fee this year. If they want to go online and they can look at all the posters because its kind of a long website https://our.show/chsaddamsfamily and Addams has two d’s,” said Vernon. Tickets will also be available at the door.
