017-10

The Lady Dinos volleyball team closed out their season in Orem on Thursday. Game one saw them going up against Richfield with the Dinos taking the three set win. In the second and final game of the season Carbon faced the Delta Rabbits. The match lasted four sets with the Dinos getting the win, closing out their season and earning a fifth place finish.

The Lady Dinos know the Wildcats very well, facing them twice in region play, earning wins in both meetings. And Richfield is always a tough out. In the first set Carbon claimed the 25-18 win, and each set forward was closer than the first. The Dinos earned the 25-22 set two win and in the final one Richfield was not ready to see it’s season come to an end but Carbon earned a 26-24 win, taking the match and ending the Wildcats season.

Delta was another team that the Dinos are familiar with playing each other in region play also. The two teams split their season series, with each team winning on the others home floor. Carbon was the aggressor in the opening two sets taking them back-to-back  25-21 and 25-16. The Rabbits would return in the third to take a 25-19 win and even though it would go down to the wire, it was Carbon coming out on top 26-24 in the fourth and deciding set.

The Dinos finished the season 21-8 overall and will end the season in fifth place in 3A.
