Pat Smuin and Zac Jones joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports Friday afternoon to talk about the CJ Smuin Hitting Camp, which will make its return to Carbon County on January 26 and 27.

The mission of the CJ Smuin Memorial Foundation is to bring about positive change in the lives of young people regarding suicide prevention, awareness.  The foundation hosts camps, guest speakers, and other events focused around suicide prevention and awareness, support other organizations with similar goals, and through the CJ Smuin Memorial Baseball Scholarship.

Registration for the camp is open now until Nov. 15 and tickets to the dinner banquet will be available through December 15.

7-18-25 Battle Baseball’s Jace Bosone, Nate Tatton and Jason Cowley join Drive Time Sports

Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.

Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Jace Bosone, Nate Tatton, and Jason Cowley all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team, and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.
